Job Description

We’re seeking a mid-level Infrastructure Test Engineer to own the planning, execution, and automation of tests across our satellite system-level software stack. You’ll be responsible for validating software performance, building and maintaining our software test infrastructure using Docker and Linux systems, and ensuring stable integration across environments. This role is hands-on and ideal for an engineer who enjoys mixing traditional test engineering with modern DevOps and infrastructure tools. The position is within BlackVe’s Software Team and will work closely with flight, ground, and autonomy software engineers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test procedures, and test automation for mission-critical flight software and system components
  • Build and manage Docker-based environments for integration and test
  • Work with developers to reproduce, isolate, and debug system-level issues
  • Coordinate and execute system verification and validation (V&V) activities
  • Maintain CI/CD test pipelines, adding smoke, regression, and system-level tests
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, system configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Assist in deployment and monitoring of test infrastructure across multiple environments

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of experience in software/system testing or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong background in Linux system administration and shell scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Docker (building, deploying, debugging containers)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab)
  • Experience writing or maintaining test automation scripts (Epsilon3 experience is a plus)
  • Experience with coding languages C/C++ and Python
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to qualify for and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with satellite systems
  • Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration labs
  • Experience working under configuration management and version control (e.g., Git)
