Job Description
As a Spacecraft Technical Program Manager at BlackVe, Inc, you will play a key role in delivering our flagship space missions to our customers. You will be a critical member of the Spacecraft Programs team as the person responsible for end-to-end execution and delivery of a national security space mission. This includes leading a diverse engineering, software, integration, finance, contracting, and security team to design, build, launch and operate a space system that satisfies customer goals.

Essential Job Functions
- Establish close working relationship with U.S Government and commercial customers to understand needs, close deals, secure revenue, and deliver on program promises and deliverables
- Coordinate closely with Lead Systems Engineer to create work plans, establish program risk posture, and ensure technical execution is in alignment with program goals
- Oversee technical reviews, design trades, and non-compliance issue adjudications in coordination with the Lead Systems Engineer.
- Develop comprehensive program execution strategies including a budget baseline and integrated master schedule baseline for all segments of the space mission: ground, launch, space, and operations
- Execute the program within approved budget and schedule baselines
- Lead, manage, and hold the program technical leads accountable for program execution: mechanical, electrical, guidance and navigation, mission operations, and assembly integration and test.
- Coordinate with software technical lead to ensure ground, flight, and mission software team is executing in alignment with program goals
- Work closely with internal support staff to ensure program satisfies all relevant legal and compliance policies and standards: administration, facilities, contracting, finance, accounting, legal, security, and cybersecurity
- Develop and deliver reporting and decision briefings for BlackVe senior leadership including program baseline approvals, program management reviews, and milestone gate reviews
- Author, organize, and deliver written reports, presentations, and formal deliverables for the customer
- Develop and deliver formal and informal proposals and white papers to customers as needed to expand program scope
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field with 15 years experience as a spacecraft technical program manager - OR - spacecraft systems engineer with some program management experience
- Proven experience engineering or managing ground, launch, space, and operations segments of a major spacecraft system
- Proven success leading, managing, and holding multi-disciplinary spacecraft teams accountable to delivering results
- Strong proficiency in developing and managing program schedules, budgets, and acquisition strategies
- Exceptional ability to bring focus, order, organization, and clear direction to complex projects, dynamic situations, and diverse personalities.
- Exceptional ability to effectively communicate professionally in writing and verbally with all skill levels and government customers
- Hold current or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. security clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Hands on engineering experience with National Security Space Systems
- Experience successfully managing technical space programs for the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community including a working knowledge of U.S. government contracting
- Experience with control of sensitive and confidential information as required by company standards
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Project
Location and Travel Requirements
This position is based in Albuquerque, NM with occasional travel to other company locations and partner facilities.
