Job Description
As the Senior Spacecraft Production Lead at BlackVe, you will play a pivotal role in leading our spacecraft manufacturing and production initiatives. You will be a critical member of the Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) Team by leading all spacecraft production across the company. This will include developing, leading, and interfacing with teams of cross-functional scientists, engineers, software developers and technicians to ensure successful manufacturing and production strategy and execution.

You will be required to identify and lead work within a small and agile team on a broad set of tasks and ensure the highest quality product through all phases of the space element design, build, test and operations. You will be part of building a culture in our AI&T Team that that rewards experienced application of proven approaches and risk management techniques to enable mission success. Personal ownership and accountability within the AI&T Team is aligned with the necessary responsibilities to be successful within the company.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the execution of the company's Spacecraft manufacturing and production systems aligned with overall business objectives and technical roadmap.
- Identify, created, and curate BlackVe’s spacecraft manufacturing and production strategy, processes, systems, and facilities.
- Establish company standards and practices for spacecraft AI&T.
- Identify, design, develop, and implement all production protocols, assemblies, testing methods and equipment.
- Provide leadership and mentorship across the BlackVe team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on spacecraft production and space launch representing the company in industry forums, conferences, and technical discussions.
- Experience with standard lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, thermocouples/temp sensors.
- Experience with qualification and acceptance testing of hardware products.
- Proven ability to create test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.
- Documentation of key activities such as test results, quality control and failures.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software integration problems.
- Reports progress in meeting program requirements periodically.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or Engineering Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field – OR – 15+ years of related experience AI&T engineering or operations, including full program life cycle from proposal to project close out.
- Proven track record of successfully leading spacecraft manufacturing and production initiatives in a complex, fast moving environment .
- Experience with assembly workflows, procedure development, hazardous operations, electrical and mechanical proficitnecy as applicable to small satellite systems.
- Experience with any of the following: Epsilon3, Labview, Matlab, Python, Altium, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
- Must have the ability to qualify and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with launch campaign planning, logistics and participation.
- Ability to effectively communicate professionally in writing or verbally with all levels of personnel.
- Experience with control of sensitive and confidential information as required by company standards.
- Experience working in cleanroom environments.
Location and Travel Requirements
This position is based in Albuquerque, NM, with occasional travel to other company locations, partner facilities or launch sites as needed.
